A Thai Master Touches Down in NYC

A massage among the banyan gardens of the secluded Chiva-Som wellness resort in Thailand is well worth hopping a plane for. But if a trip to the Far East isn’t feasible at the moment, the Setai Wall Street Spa has you covered. The luxury pampering destination has made arrangements to fly in the resort’s top therapist, Jeep Danjareanrak, for a day of private, by-appointment-only treatments tomorrow, Thursday, June 17. The news is under the radar (read: not on their Web site or spa menu), but we hear the Thai master will perform her three most popular bodywork therapies: Deep Tissue to undo muscular knots, Stress Release to calm frayed nerves, and Body Balancing, which includes tui na energy work and myofascial release to treat chronic pain. Danjareanrak combines her knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology to diagnose the condition of your body, then customizes her strokes to suit your needs. It’s an approach that has earned her a devoted following that could rival any yogis, and explains the lengthy waiting list she commands at Chiva-Som. So in other words, the Setai may be your best chance to jump the line, and last we checked, you’ve still got a shot.
