Paradise Found

If, by some magical stroke of luck, I were to find myself on the island of Capri this summer, it would take little else to make me happy than a lounge chair by the pool and a daily dose of carbohydrates. Most of the picturesque Italian isle’s repeat visitors are accustomed to a bit more glamour, though. Much like Saint-Tropez or the Seychelles, this is one of the world’s most sophisticated seaside destinations, so it seems only fitting that one of the world’s most classically sophisticated brands chose Capri as the setting for its new spa. That would be Acqua di Parma and its recently opened Blu Mediterraneo Spa in the elegant Capri Tiberio Palace Hotel, which boasts some of the city’s most jaw-dropping views. The bi-level destination—Acqua di Parma’s second relaxation haven in Italy—is just as stunning. There’s an oversize indoor swimming pool, a Turkish hammam, and an extensive hydrotherapy area with therapeutic showers scented for your individual enjoyment (upon arrival, you choose which Blu Mediterraneo aroma will accompany your experience). The Spa Chakra team, the same group behind the impressive transformation of New York’s Cornelia spa, is responsible for the luxurious treatment menu, which includes face and body rituals that each kick off with a thoroughly relaxing foot massage. Before you leave, make sure to pick up a bottle of Acqua di Parma’s latest cologne, the sunny, citrus-doused Bergamotto do Calabria, which has, in a few month’s time, become one of the brand’s top three sellers. If you’re not headed to Capri anytime soon, there’s always Neiman Marcus, which carries the entire Blu Mediterraneo fragrance collection.
