So Long Sea Foam, Hello Bogie

I’ve spent the majority of the summer thus far with my fingernails painted a soothing sea foam green (Maybelline’s Express Finish in Minty, to be precise). The pastel, “Easter-eggy” hue, as my friends continue to call it, feels perfect right now in the sweltering heat, but I’m certain that come fall I’ll be switching back to the jewel tones, reds, and neutrals that I so love. A few shades from China Glaze’s Vintage Vixen range, which bows this month, will make it into the regular rotation, too. Inspired by forties-era glamour, the collection’s standouts include Ingrid, a deep, creamy greige doused with fine glitter; Classic Camel, a trenchcoat khaki flecked with gold; and Bogie, a shimmering plum that mirrors the purple pigment that models wore on their lips at Peter Som and Proenza Schouler.
