A New Nude Review

Fall always piques my interest in khaki-colored essentials—a must-have trench, a slouchy fawn leather bag, faded brown boots, and of course, the perfect taupe-tinged nail polish. I may have missed out on Les Khakis de Chanel (damn you, limited-edition distribution!), but luckily Scotch Naturals’ new Neutrals collection is a near spot-on match. And get this: All three shades in the range are completely nontoxic. Founded in 2009, the eco-friendly brand hand-pours small batches of water-based polish formulated with nourishing ingredients to help strengthen the enamel and without harsh chemicals (toluene, formaldehyde, and heavy metals) that could be damaging to your health. The aforementioned Neutral trio includes a rosy-nude Heather Blush, a tweedy-olive Ceasefire, and my personal favorite, a velvet-brown Hot Toddy that I’ll be wearing until trench weather is officially over. Also appealing: When it’s finally time to paint on another hue (thus far, the brand has 13 fantastic shades to experiment with), the company’s Polish Remover is an all-natural way to change things up, without damaging your delicate nail bed.
