Just Say Know!

-------

Natural shampoo and conditioners abound, but very few are designed to protect your color and prevent fading. This is a problem that hair experts George Wilman and Scott Bond set out to correct with the launch of their new Know! Hair & Body
line. Before undertaking the endeavor, the duo spent time in the salon trenches—Wilman trained as a stylist at Vidal Sassoon in California and opened the New York outpost of L.A.’s Privé salon, while Bond worked his way up as a colorist at Frédéric Fekkai and John Barrett in New York. Fed up with the lack of luxurious, eco-friendly hair and skincare options at their disposal, the pair decided to create a three-piece range aptly called Know! to emphasize the importance of being aware of what’s inside your products. Or in this case, what’s not inside. The collection, which consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, is free of harmful chemicals, including sulfates, silicones, formaldehyde, parabens, and synthetic colors and fragrance. Instead, it’s packed with natural hair and skin enhancers like soybean, green tea, aloe, cucumber, pink grapefruit, sunflower, and Brazilian orange oil to seal in moisture and provide a natural shield against color loss. Plus, the lack of harsh detergents means you can wash daily and not worry about striping your hair of the oils it needs to stay shiny and frizz-free. The brand launched last month, but Wilman and Bond are already thinking ahead: They plan to release a children’s line next, and then an assortment of styling products. Here’s hoping a color-safe volumizing mousse lands in our hands soon.
