Makeup Bag Check: Hilary Swank

-------

The Mission: Create a subtle, gilded makeup look to complement Hilary Swank’s Versace bombshell dress at Glamour‘s 2010 Women of the Year Awards last night in New York.

The Face Painter: Newly named Clarins celebrity beauty artist Pati Dubroff.

The Face: Dubroff prepped the skin with Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch miracle-working base and primer to create an even canvas for a veil of Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation. To avoid a flat monochrome finish, she added a healthy flush by patting on a light application of Clarins Multi-Blush Cream in Tender Lichee, a warm peach.

The Eyes: Working off the colors in Swank’s pewter and bronze body-hugging gown, Dubroff dragged a matte dusty silver eye shadow up to the crease of the star’s lids, adding shimmering brass pigment just at the center to make Swank’s eyes pop. Two coats of Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara in black added a dose of red-carpet drama.

The Lip: As for that glistening neutral lip, Dubroff slathered Clarins Rouge Prodige lipstick in Nude across Swank’s mouth and paired it with a top coat of the brand’s Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector.

The Result: A sophisticated, radiant look befitting a two-time Oscar winner, but one that didn’t steal the show. Swank presented Donatella Versace with her Woman of the Year Award.
