Clé De Peau Goes For Gold-------
I swore by sterling silver as a teenager, but I fell for gold in college and I’ve never looked back. As my buying power increased with each part-time job (the bowling alley/martini bar I worked at for a brief spell at 21 paid a pretty penny, I’ll have you know), I discovered that it wasn’t just yellow gold that I loved, but white gold and rose gold, too. I still have trouble choosing between the three on the rare occasion that I buy myself a new piece of jewelry—and I find I have a similar problem with shimmer powders of the gilded variety. Deep yellow gold on the eyes or dusted across cheekbones is a perfect complement to tanned skin, while a frosty white gold at the inner corner of my eyes makes me look instantly awake. And rose gold? I can dust that just about anywhere—clavicles, brow bones, you name it. In a piece of holiday genius courtesy of the brand’s color creator, Lucia Pieroni, Clé de Peau’s limited-edition vintage palette combines all three. A simple swipe blends the tricolored pigments into a smooth, velvety amalgamation of precious metal that melts into the skin and leaves behind a translucent glow.
Clé de Peau limited-edition Vintage Palette, $125, available at select Neiman Marcus, Saks, Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman locations.
