One Love, Zero Water

The more water we take in, the better we perform (skin is clearer, metabolism is faster, etc.), but the same isn’t necessarily true for beauty products—at least according to Suzanne LeRoux, founder of One Love Organics, the first all-natural, water-free skincare company on the market. In case you didn’t know, the primary purpose of the synthetic preservatives found in your favorite tube of moisturizer or cleanser is to prevent microorganisms from growing and flourishing in the presence of water. LeRoux avoided the difficult task of finding a non-synthetic preservative to put into her new, green-leaning line by cutting out the need for one altogether. Instead of good old-fashioned H20, she formulated her products with self-preserving antioxidants. And because nothing in the six-piece range is watered down, a little of the highly concentrated, multi-use formulas go a long way. We’re most devoted to the Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque—a smoothing, gentle exfoliator with milk powder and pineapple enzymes—and the Love Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum—a rich, deliciously scented hydrator with watermelon seed and Bulgarian rose oils. As for the Skin Savior Waterless Multi balm, it’s, well, the bomb. Use it to remove makeup, moisturize dry skin, or condition the ends of hair without worrying about pesky preservatives.
