Clinique Drops A Balm

-------

The issue of applying lip color to chapped lips is an age-old dilemma. If you coat your mouth with an emollient balm first, the rich lipstick pigments tend to go on blotchy and refuse to stay put, but without this critical first step, the whole process can be a cakey mess. Tinted lip balms offer up the perfect solution, although not all formulas are created equal. Clinique’s latest, however, is a pretty perfect incarnation. Packed with shea butter, mango seed butter, and jojoba oil, its Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm pencils glide on smooth and blend into parched lips seamlessly. Available in eight incredibly sheer shades (even Richer Raisin, the darkest offering, imparts but a humble bit of color), each one simply enhances your natural lip shade while adding a hint of shine and a boatload of much needed suppleness. As an added bonus, there is no sharpening needed when you wear down the pencil’s tip (and you will). Simply twist the silver bottom and apply again (and again).
