Priti NYC’s Sugar Rush

Among the many wonderful things that the French have bequeathed us—Vanessa Bruno, camembert, Serge Gainsbourg and his various offspring—the Parisian patisserie Ladurée’s famous macarons rank very, very high. So it’s easy to understand why Priti NYC took inspiration from the pastries for its new nail collection. The latest in a long line of beauty brands to use the delectables as muse—Chantecaille’s Les Macarons holiday Face Palette and Marc Jacobs’ Splash Collection from last spring immediately come to mind—the natural, nontoxic lacquers formulated sans toluene, dibutyl phthalate, and formaldehyde take their cues from the pistachio, rose, and blackcurrant-violet hues of the legendary sweets. Geisha Girl is a dusty lavender, Forget Me Not a soft powder blue, Daffodil a milky lemon, and September Charm a pale peach. On short, rounded nails, the muted creamy hues feel like an early ode to sunny skies and warm breezes. Make that very early (another forecasted East Coast snowstorm? Really?)
