Justin Bieber To Make His NYFW Debut (Sort Of)
We’re busy finalizing our schedule for New York fashion week, and while the suspense mounts as far as what we’re going to see backstage—will the bright lip continue its dominance? Will eye shadow remain an influential force for Fall?—we’ve been given some insider information about at least one new muse for the season: Justin Bieber. Biebs—his February Vanity Fair cover specifically—inspired the beauty look for Barbara Tfank’s Valentine’s Day presentation. Yes, this is the Barbara Tfank who dresses Vanessa Redgrave and Michelle Obama. “Justin Bieber looks fresh, innocent, and youthful,” says the designer, who enlisted the services of Shiseido’s Hirofumi Kera to create eight wigs in two colors (dark brown and dark red) to resemble the pop phenom’s famous bowl cut. “It reminds me of the Beatles,” Tfank continues of the style. “It has a sixties reference that works well with my clothes,” a collection that will include leather and denim pieces created in collaboration with L.A. jeans guru Henry Duarte—another surprise. “And it frames the face really well.” Tell us something we don’t know!
