Comb Hither

March 29, 2011  9:48 am

Like every other beauty-savvy New Yorker, we’re big fans of Ricky’s NYC. Where else can you find your favorite niche and mass market brands—from Barielle nail polishes to Banana Boat sunscreens—get a blow-out, and buy a wig with fishnets to match all under the same roof? Nowhere. The superstore also has a range of its own products and accessories, the latest of which is the impressive No-Frizz comb collection. Using a special technique in which olive oil is actually baked into plastic, each of the ten comb styles diminish static while imparting a slight trace of the oil’s surface-softening abilities for frizz-less, perfectly polished locks. Don’t let the word “oil” scare you; we’re talking minuscule amounts of the extra virgin Turkish stuff that doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue. What it does do is help remedy damage and control flyaways, as demonstrated backstage at Fall shows like Richard Chai Love, Nicole Miller, and Tibi, where the tools were given a test run before their official launch this month.

  1. I need one of these! I fight frizz on a daily basis…wish they were available in San Francisco.
