Crabtree Keeps It Old School

There are certain age-old beauty treatments that will always have a timeless appeal for us—that big blue bucket of camphor-rich Noxzema cleansing cream; Revlon’s super-lustrous lipstick in Cherries in the Snow; and even the gentle, makeup-removing wonder that is Pond’s Cold Cream. Crabtree & Evelyn’s offerings fall into a similar nostalgic-inducing category; it was one of the gateway beauty brands that helped ultimately secure us in our current position as a professional primper. We’re happy to report that its new floral fragrance collection still does it for us. Consisting of four different ranges divided by individually featured blooms—rose, lavender, lily, and iris—the distinct but not obtrusively scented collections include moisturizing triple-milled soaps, body lotions, fragrant candles, shower gels, a silky dusting powder, and a rich, glass-jarred body cream that really spruces up the cracked Ikea shelf in our tiny Brooklyn bathroom. Bonus tip: With its tinge of fresh-cut flowers, the body powder doubles as a fragrant dry shampoo for those of you looking to keep bangs at bay.
