Now Sparkling: Scalp Bedazzling

Nicole Richie was one of the hippie headband’s strongest proponents when the thin DIY accoutrements had their second coming in the early aughts. Her reality television days are long behind her, but the designer and mother of two still seems to have a fondness for those headbands, as evidenced by her cameo at a Baby2Baby event last night in LA. Richie not only strung up a strand of rhinestones across her forehead, but along her part, too—à la Peter Gray’s sparkly accoutrements backstage at Badgley Mischka. Scalp adornment: Can you get into it?

Ballroom dance competitors have been doing this for a long time, at least the 15 years that I have been dancing. So you guys are a little late to the game! A great example of how the dance world influences mainstream fashion.
