Drugstore Discovery Of The Week: Palmer’s Faces Off

A big jar of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter has been a regular staple in our beauty stash for a great many years. Nothing is quite so adept at treating dry, cracked skin as this comforting drugstore classic with its signature, rich aroma that is almost as soothing as the formula itself. Needless to say, we were very excited to hear that Palmer’s has decided to expand (at last!) into facial care. Cocoa butter, unsurprisingly, is at the heart of each of the five products in the premiere collection, which includes a lightweight Daily Face Lotion formulated with skin-nourishing antioxidants and a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15); a Night Renewal Cream, which softens on contact and combats aging with the addition of evening primrose oil and retinol peptides; and a Line Smoothing Eye Cream that blends seamlessly without irritation. Our favorites so far are the Daily Cleanser and Exfoliating Scrub, as both possess super-gentle, milky formulations that don’t feel like they’re stripping the skin at all yet still manage to get it squeaky clean. Fingers crossed there will be more new classics on the way.

Palmer’s facial products, $10 to $15, available at drugstores nationwide.
