Evo Haircare Hits The East Coast

The rise of the unisex grooming brand (Aesop, Malin + Goetz, Absolution) is something that we’re particularly excited about. Not only is there the convenience factor of sharing product with your S.O., but we find that the formulas tend to be extremely results-driven. That’s certainly the case with Evo , a quirky haircare brand from Australia that appeals to gals and guys alike. The range is divided into five confusion-free categories: Care, Volume, Curl, Straight, and Style, and includes dozens of unique, hard-working essentials like the Water Killer Dry Shampoo, a two-in-one cleansing agent and volume-boosting styling aid that’s a favorite of salon owner Greg Ruggeri . The Aussie stylist’s eponymous New York City salon is the first on the East Coast to carry the Evo brand, a development that he’s understandably enthusiastic about. “Evo’s range of products is concise and to the point. Even though it’s a small, boutique brand, every product does what it’s supposed to,” Ruggeri told us. The goods are particularly nourishing for sun-ravaged surfer hair, as many of the leave-in styling fixes contain UV protection and natural emollients to prevent hair from turning brittle at the beach. That’s a boon for wave-catchers—and anyone who plans on watching said wave-catchers in Montauk this summer.
