Maya Water Makes A Splash Stateside

-------

When one of Beauty Counter’s intrepid reporters sought out the best primping products that Norway had to offer while on vacation there last year (true beauty sleuths never sleep), we were most intrigued by her discovery of Maya Water. Created by makeup artist and German expat Maya Gulbrandsen back in 2009, the refreshing spray made of Norwegian thermal spa water is sourced from a spring called Skogshornkilden, which is over 300 feet below the surface of Skogshorn Mountain in Hemsedal, Norway. The mineral-rich liquid is great for revitalizing dry, tired skin while keeping you cool on a warm sunny day. Think of it as the Scandinavian answer to similar mists from Avene and Evian. This month, Gulbrandsen is crossing the pond—make that ponds (the North Sea is a doozy)—to officially launch a U.S. Web destination where her product lineup is available in cold, hard USD. An antioxidant-rich Organic White Tea spritz now joins the original Pure variety, and two more infusions will reportedly debut next month (the words “acai” and “berry” have been mentioned). A hearty Velkommen from us, to you.
