Chanel Makes Us Wish It Was Already Fall
Here’s the problem with Chanel makeup: the time lapse between when we see it backstage at the house’s show in Paris and when it actually hits shelves is brutal. It’s been almost four months since we first laid eyes on Peter Philips’ Fall collection, but the agony of waiting is finally over. The face-painting star’s new offerings include three lipsticks, two glosses, a khaki-platinum eyeliner, a neutral Les 4 Ombres de Chanel eyeshadow quad, a soft rose Joues Contraste blush, and the Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadow collection—six shades of blendable, creamy pigment unlike anything we’ve ever touched before. Philips himself demoed the gunmetal Epatant on camera for us at the Grand Palais, but the Mirifique (a shimmer black) and Fantasme (a glittering white) are just as awesome (they go on sheer or can be built up for a heavy, pearly finish). And don’t forget the nail polish. We blogged about Graphite, the limited edition metallic golden silver that Philips used at the show back in March, but there’s more where that came from, including Quartz, a silver-flecked rose lacquer, and Peridot, an amazing, limited-edition, iridescent golden green. In a shocking turn of events, it’s still available for purchase on the Chanel website, but that certainly won’t last long.
