RGB, Blue Jean Baby

June 24, 2011  12:58 pm

Denim-inspired beauty lines enjoyed a bit of a moment last summer when brands like Bobbi Brown and Poppy King’s Lipstick Queen debuted makeup collections and packaging inspired by jeans. And the Levi’s homages just keep coming. MAC launched its limited-edition Jeanius range this spring, and now RGB is joining the party. The L.A.-based lacquer line has teamed up with Virginia’s premium denim hot spot, Need Supply Co., for its first ever collaborative effort. The resulting polish, 1996 (the year NSC opened) is a deep, inky blue—the same color as, say, Mother Denim’s The Runaway Blue Skies mid-rise flares. Apparently this is just the first of many joint projects the brand has in the works, although it’s staying mum on the specifics. For the record, an Hermès orange varnish would be pretty killer—just throwing it out there.
