Rachel Zoe Gets Lippy

July 29, 2011  12:56 pm

Super-stylist Rachel Zoe may be best known for her A-list celebrity clientele, that highly entertaining reality show, and those catchphrases (she’s all about “maje” now), but starting on Monday, the fashion set will see another side of the mini mogul: makeup lover. “I’ve been obsessed with lipstick since I was a little girl,” Zoe told Style.com last night at a preview of Exude, a new beauty company that will debut its first product, a crystal applicator lipstick, online come Monday. “It’s the easiest way to punch things up if you’re tired,” said Zoe, who serves as the brand’s ambassador.

Exude’s biggest selling point is the clever way it delivers a bevy of glimmering hues, which come in nine crème finishes and five glosses: a twist function allows you to dispense a small bit of product through a slanted, grooved plastic tip that retains its shape for the life of the product. “I’m a germ freak,” Zoe admitted while gushing over the applicator. “And I’ve always hated how lipstick melts in my bag.”

The petite blonde, who has yet to add her own line of cosmetics and fragrances to her growing fashion empire, decided to become a part of Exude simply because, well, she liked the product. “I really love it,” Zoe insisted, revealing that she wears the Cranberry shade the most. “I love anything that transports the overall look of a woman—and a man too.” (The clear shade, Zoe was quick to point out, is great for guys.)
