BCBG Max Azria has become as well known for its coterie of celebrity devotees as it is for its designs. To wit, Elisha Cuthbert, Jordana Brewster, and Sophia Bush turned out to support Max and Lubov Azria’s handiwork at the line’s Spring collection presentation this morning. The launch of the brand’s first scent in six years should only further its ties to young Hollywood. At the heart of the flirty, fun new perfume is musk, which is surrounded by notes both juicy (wild strawberry, black cherry, kir royale) and floral (jasmine, violet, lily of the valley), while the orris and sandalwood base provides an appealing twang of intensity that keeps it from veering off into too-saccharine territory. Still, the definitive takeaway is more girly than complex, thanks in no small part to the eau’s Marc Jacobs Lola-style floral topper. And that should suit BCBG’s core crowd just fine.
