Behold: The Lucite-And-Lace Manicure

Last season’s nude nail continues to make a strong showing so far for Spring (BCBG Max Azria, The Row, Peter Som), but the nail-art movement isn’t going out without a fight. Jin Soon Choi doubled up on purple, creating a “slim silhouette” with layered lilac and sparkling amethyst lacquers backstage at Prabal Gurung (more on that in a bit) and yesterday at Joy Cioci, CND’s Candice Manacchio minted the Lucite-and-lace mani. Manacchio’s technique involves twisting and turning pieces of lace on top of a clear acrylic nail then airbrushing a white polish on top to leave behind a unique stencil of the latticework, so no two nails looked exactly alike. Not the owner of a professional airbrushing kit? Not to worry. Manacchio says that placing a drop of white polish on top of your tips and simply using a toothpick to create separation will yield a similar design.

I dont know why they thought nail design was out cause of the nude nail trend. There are plenty of ways to have a nude or monochromatic nail but with design. This technique is an awesome example. Kudos to creator. My nail tech is not going to know how to mimic these nails.
