Rococo Nail Apparel Is Learning Japanese
Last time we checked in with Rococo Nail Apparel’s Ange and Vernice Walker, they were revolutionizing the nude nail movement with a six-piece collection of “nail foundations” for fall—which, it should be noted, should still be in heavy rotation come spring. (Burberry’s Christopher Bailey had models’ fingertips painted with the neutral shades at his show in September.) The sister act’s holiday release is decidedly more colorful, though, inspired as it is by Japan and the country’s mysterious, theatrical courtesan tradition. The Geisha collection is composed of five enticing options: Deadly Nightshade, a dark ballpoint blue; The Darkest Emerald, a glimmering teal green; Hypnotic Luxe, a bright magenta; Flower Town, a ballerina pink; and New Geisha Luxe, a metallic mushroom. We’re particularly fond of lacquering the shimmering New Geisha on nails and reserving the ultra-feminine, dense pink Hypnotic for toes.
