Jet, Set, Polish
While A-listers tend to break for warmer climes come December—St. Bart’s, Hawaii, insert sun-drenched beach destination here—we chose northern California and its balmy 50-degree days (and 20-degree nights) for our winter holiday. And we’re not complaining; those eight days spent chasing children, building fires, thrift shopping, and Scrabble-playing were truly, truly glorious. As we peruse pics of golden-bronzed celebrities from the week that was, though, there is a slight sense of what could have been had we chosen to fly south instead. Luckily, Le Métier de Beauté’s new Jet Set collection, which launches this month, puts the resort spirit in a bottle—literally. Its new five-piece range conjures images of tropical sunsets and warm ocean breezes in the form of three neon nail lacquers—ShocKEN Pink, a hot pink; Not So Safe Orange, a bold melon; and Yield to Yellow, a true canary—and two sparkling lip sheers, including Orange Juiced, a golden mandarin, and HibisKiss, a twinkling fuchsia. We’ll have our sand and surf getaway come April (oh, yes, we will), but it’s never too early to start preparing for the trip.
Le Métier de Beauté Jet Set Nail Lacquers, $18 each, and Sheer Brilliance Glosses, $32 each, available January 2012 at www.neimanmarcus.com and www.bergdorfgoodman.com.
