Markus Lupfer X Shu Uemura

Markus Lupfer received a little free press last month when Madonna sported his Spring Intarsia Star sweater on the cover of her new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’.” Not that he needs it; the German-born, London-based designer’s embellished sweaters have become essentials with the international style set’s most frequently photographed faces. This weekend, Lupfer will debut a small diversion from his exceptional knitwear in the form of—wait for it—beauty. The designer has created a limited-edition compact in collaboration with Shu Uemura, which features three different pastel-hued animal-print cases that you can customize with eye shadows and blush shades of your choice. “The palette designs originated from my latest Spring/Summer collection, called Everything Under the Sun,” explains Lupfer. “It was influenced by all things tropical”—which means you can now happily match crewneck and cardigan to cosmetics. “You can wear the jumper and have the palette in your handbag—many things to make you happy,” he says. While the palette is exclusively available in London, there’s no better time than the present to put in an e-mail request to friends (and co-workers) who have already crossed the pond for LFW.
