The 411: Charlotte Stockdale

-------

As Jo Malone London’s style editor, Charlotte Stockdale approaches fragrance as she does fashion—with an understated elegance and glamour. In her unique role—the first for the Brit perfume purveyor—the fashion director of i-D will do everything from curate collaborations with tastemakers and influencers and mastermind campaigns to host chic parties aplenty, like the recent soirée at her London flat earlier this month, in which designer Roland Mouret and both Simon and Yasmin Le Bon toasted her new appointment. Of course, all this comes easily to Stockdale, who multitasks as a super-stylist and has consulted for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld. As the fashion pack descends upon London this weekend, Style.com caught up with Stockdale to talk about scents, what’s in her makeup bag, and the best spots for recuperating in between shows, from the U.K. to Paris.

The Trusted Hairstylist: Alex Brownsell at Bleach Hair Salon

The Nail Artist: DIY Magic

“I do my own nails, and always with a Chanel polish as their colors are always on trend. Their matte top coat is an absolute essential!”

The Complexion Perfectors: Three for Three

“I use The Mist and The Hydrating Infusion by Crème de la Mer twice a day, every day. I can’t live without them. And the Jo Malone Vitamin E Body Scrub is my perfect exfoliator—it leaves my skin so soft and smooth.”

Available at www.cremedelamer.com and www.jomalone.com.

The Makeup Musts: Chanel and MAC

“My Chanel makeup bag carries a mix of Chanel and MAC makeup. It will usually contain MAC Strobe Cream, Chanel foundation, and their Émerveillé cream eye shadow, eyelash curlers, and a mascara.”

Available at www.chanel.com and www.maccosmetics.com.

The Signature Scent: Jo Malone London Red Roses

“The scent reminds me of an English rose garden in summer. At the end of the day to unwind and rejuvenate, I run a bath with Red Roses Bath Oil. I simply relax with a good book and a glass of chilled wine.”

$65, www.jomalone.com.

The Mind-Body Expert: Jacqueline Harvey

“Jacqueline is my personal trainer and general health adviser. I couldn’t live without her and her inspiring healthy living. As for my fitness routine, it’s whatever she tells me to do! Honestly, my fitness timetable always changes to suit my busy home and work schedule. This can vary between gym sessions, yoga classes, brisk walks, or jogging round the park.”
