Bic Is Beautiful

-------

Michelle Harper’s onyx topknot—replete with shorn undersection and sculpted sideburns—is almost as quintessential to the street-style blog fodder’s look as her persistent smear of red, doll-like lipstick and that enviable designer-dotted wardrobe. But at last night’s Signorina launch party to celebrate the latest fragrance from Salvatore Ferragamo, Harper was sporting a noticeable tweak to her signature ‘do. “I’m not afraid of a bold haircut,” she told us of her freshly Bic-ed hairline, which segued into a similarly shaved side and back panel. Such strokes of styling whimsy are the luxury of a fashion enthusiast who happens to be best friends with one of coiffure’s reigning hair heroes. “Danilo did it at his house,” Harper said of the celebrity stylist with whom she has “a fluid form of communication; he gets who I am and what I’m about.” Thoughts on Harper’s take on the classic fade?
