Viktor & Rolf’s Rosy Outlook
Spring and summer are ripe for fragrance reinvention. As the weather gets warmer, perfumes get softer and lighter to appeal to the overwhelming desire to strip off winter’s heavy layers and look on the bright side. The East Coast winter of 2012 will go down as perhaps the mildest on record, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still excited about refreshing our perfume arsenal. Yesterday, we discussed Agent Provocateur’s seasonal offerings, and today, it’s all about Viktor & Rolf’s limited-edition Flowerbomb La Vie en Rose. Back for its fourth annual appearance, the classic scent’s patchouli base has been blended with hints of just-blossomed rose and then spiked with zesty citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin as well as a crisp green apple accord. The resulting eau is a bit more sparkling and tangy than the original and no less addicting; ditto its collectible grenade-shaped, faceted bottle, which features an ombré fuchsia color. If you somehow managed to miss the flacon’s appearance last year, now is the perfect time to add it to the growing Flowerbomb shrine every true enthusiast keeps on her vanity.
