Glow On

-------

Not all highlighters are created equal. Take YSL’s Touche Eclat; many have tried to best the radiance-boosting under-eye concealer at its own game, but few have succeeded. Illuminators are similarly hard to formulate. Add too much sparkle or veer on the wrong side of transparency, and you’re basically screwed. But considering its past success in the business of brightening, it should come as no surprise that the French beauty giant has managed to master those, too. Introducing its new Dare to Glow complexion enhancers, a mother-of-pearl boosted glimmering gel-cream that comes in a trio of different shades: Tempting Gold is a warm bronze, Fatal Red is a gilded rose, and Naughty Pink is an icy lavender. All three manage to melt right into the tops of cheekbones, clavicles, brow bones, or eyelids—wherever you decide to swipe them, even onto mouths (frosted lips are making a gradual comeback, don’t you know). The best way to maximize their blendability in our humble opinion, though, is to mix a few dots with your foundation or tinted moisturizer of choice. Nothing beats a customized skin tint—especially one that gives you luminescent pastel undertones.
