Face Paint Is On The Fast Track With Olympian DeeDee Trotter
From Ryan Lochte’s customized stars-and-stripes grill to the 200-plus flag nail decals released by Minx, we’d argue that so far, the 2012 London Olympics have had more patriotic swag than all the previous Games combined. Last night, U.S. track star DeeDee Trotter upped the ante for the 400-meter final by creating fireworks around her eyes with red, white, and blue face paint, then topping off the designs with tiny jewels. “They call me the glitter-faced warrior,” 29-year-old Trotter told the Associated Press. Trotter may have only earned a bronze medal for finishing the event in 49.72 seconds (she was edged out by fellow American Sanya Richards-Ross, who placed first, and Great Britain’s Christine Ohuruogu), but she definitely earns gold for her winning makeup.
