There was hardly a dry eye in the house as two-time defending gold medal champs Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings collapsed on the sand after clenching their third and final Olympic gold in women’s beach volleyball yesterday. It’s a bittersweet victory for the dynamic duo, with May-Treanor retiring from competition to start a family. During the medal ceremony, as we watched an emotional Walsh Jennings, we couldn’t help but notice her simple patriotic manicure. Walsh Jennings opted for a blue hue with a red accent nail while May-Treanor ditched her American flag decals from Minx for an au natural look. We have certainly seen our fair share of nail art during these summer Games, but for us, this platform and the powerful sentiment of their 11-year partnership is what truly solidifies this trend.
