The 411: Amanda Lacey

-------

Skin therapist Amanda Lacey, a.k.a. the “English rose of skincare,” has established herself as the go-to expert for in-the-know Londoners—and New Yorkers—in need of some complexion TLC (Lacey frequently crosses the pond to hold a pop-up clinic at the Lowell Hotel). There is perhaps no better evidence of her finesse than the slew of famous complexions she tends to: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Emily Blunt all count themselves devotees of her bespoke facials. Lacey’s simple, holistic approach to beauty is evident both in her coveted treatments and her pared-down product line, which is available locally at Brooklyn’s Shen Beauty (we are particularly fond of her pore-excavating Revealing Pink Mask). With the Olympics still in full swing and London still very much on the brain (did you see that women’s beach volleyball semifinal yesterday? It was epic!), we asked Lacey to share some of her own beauty favorites.

The Skincare Routine: Personal Best
“My own skincare routine has evolved as I began to understand how a woman’s skin changes. I use my own cult products every morning. I start with the Cleansing Pomade, which is rich in calendula oil, then I will cover my entire face with my Incredible Pink serum, pressing it into my skin as I go for a silken finish, and I end with my Pink Cream. Nighttime is very simple. I massage my Oils of Provence into my skin; it works as a natural hydrating exfoliator by gentlylifting away dead cells.”

The Hair Hero: Gary Burke
“My colorist is Gary Burke at John Frieda in London. He’s an amazing guy with atalent for the best balayage highlights ever. And he really understands theimportance of matching color to an individual’s complexion.”

The Super Stretches: Heartcore Pilates
“For the best workout, I love Heartcore Pilates in Chelsea. There are only eightpeople in every class so it’s very intimate and cozy.”

The Color Code: Prestige or Bust
“Chanel makeup totally rocks. I like the Vitalumiere Aqua Crème compact because it’s a perfect fit for your handbag and it does look so chic when I whip it out. Also, I adore Christian Dior’s Diorshow Mascara and for a touch of bloodred lip, Tom Ford’s lipstick in True Coral.”
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Crème Compact $58, www.chanel.com; Christian Dior Diorshow Mascara, $25, www.nordstrom.com; Tom Ford Lip Color in True Coral, $48, www.neimanmarcus.com.

The After-Work Treat: Cecconi’s
“I love Cecconi’s in London’s Burlington Gardens. Really the best Bellini in town!”
Cecconi’s Mayfair, 5A Burlington Gardens, 44-20-7434-1500, www.cecconis.co.uk.

The Great Escape: Greece
“When I go on holiday, I like to stay in Europe as I adore the food, culture, andhistory. My favorite is Kapari Bay, a private house situated on a five-acreprivate estate at the north end of Zackynthos, Greece. The owners are the best cooks in the world!”
