As frequent readers of this blog are well aware, the overwhelming nail trend on the runways for the past two seasons has been bare is better. Fall’s neutral lacquer love segued into a Spring show season that, more often than not, featured clean, polish-less nails. While this may seem like heresy to the nail-art set, it is in fact the way of the future—a future that may already be here. Allow us to present exhibit A: Rihanna. The one-time poster girl of painted talons adorned with rhinestones, hand-scrawled designs, and the like, Riri accepted her crown as queen of the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival last night with not a single coat of color.
