Makeup Bag Check: Anne Hathaway
The Mission: Give Anne Hathaway a “slick and chic” look for her homecoming at the New York premiere of Les Misérables.
The Face Painter: Celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee
The Face: To create a “truly flawless” complexion, Lee went for a velvety finish with Chanel Perfection Lumière Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10. Cheeks were given a subtle apricot glow courtesy of Laura Mercier Cream Blush in Praline.
The Eyes: Looking for a “shimmery, wet-looking effect when [Hathaway] blinked,” Lee dusted Chanel Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme, a frosted pearl, across her lids, brushing on a thick coat of its Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir on top and bottom lashes before placing a strip of individual lashes along the upper lash line “to add shape and volume.” Lee spent an equal amount of time beefing up Hathaway’s brows, which she filled in with Anastasia Brow Powder and then set with its clear Brow Gel.
The Lips: The focal point of the look was Fall’s favorite bordeaux pout, which Lee custom-blended using three different colors: Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Rouge Noir and Palpitante, and “a touch” of its Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Somptueuse.
The Result: A Best Actress award in the beauty department—and a preview of what’s to come when awards season begins next month.
