Tattoo You

New Year’s Eve offers up a prime opportunity for out-of-the-box beauty as the pressure of concentrated, holiday family time fades away and an excuse to have an all-out party emerges in its place. Seeing how our main objective on December 31 is to find a sweaty dance party, we usually like to keep the actual makeup to a minimum. But there’s still plenty of room for ornamentation. Last year, we borrowed Pat McGrath’s halved sequins look from the Spring 2012 Givenchy show, and this year, we’re looking to Dior for our late-night embellishments of choice. As part of its divine Grand Bal collection, the brand has debuted a booklet of Golden Tattoos that were conceived by Christian Dior jewelry designer, Camille Miceli. The 24-karat-gold leaf patterns form chain link necklaces, bracelets, rings, charms, and one incredibly chic “clasped” bangle, that we imagine will kill on our upper arm as we tear up the dance floor to any number of pop-radio hits. (We love conceptual indie rock as much as the next girl, but it’s Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha that gets our body moving.) Happy New Year!
