Guerlain Does Lashes, To The Max

We’re suckers for new mascaras. It’s a grass-is-always-greener thing: While we have a bounty of great lash-darkening, -thickening, and -curling options in our possession at any given time, we’re convinced that there’s always something better out there that we just haven’t found yet. And so our quest continues. The latest wand to pique our interest comes from Guerlain, which has just debuted its Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash, a glossy formula that volumizes, conditions, and subtly curls individual hairs with each stroke. The French brand had us at the packaging: A sleek gold case, it holds a short, full-brush head with hollow fibers that hold and then dispense the black or violet pigment evenly. Also, it smells faintly of roses, which is a nice touch, in our opinion, and has earned it the number-one spot in our ever-overflowing makeup bag—for now, that is.
