Bow Knows

-------

As you spend the next twenty-four hours physically and mentally preparing yourself (and your wardrobe) for the three straight weeks of Fall collections, which are about to get under way in New York, we remind you to consider beefing up your hair-accessory arsenal as well. It seems entirely plausible that Spring’s favorite hair trend will make a big showing outside the tents, a prediction we’re basing solely on the wealth of recent editorials that are big-upping headbands, barrettes, and our favorite form of hair adornment, the bow. We need to thank Guido Palau for the childlike accoutrement’s recent resurgence, which came after the hair guru slid a series of black and white ribbons on top of side-slung bangs backstage at Louis Vuitton. We’ve recently been coveting the satin trimmings on Lily Donaldson in this month’s issue of Dazed & Confused and in March’s Numéro Tokyo, which features a manga-inspired Lana Del Rey, who, much to our amazement, is still booking fashion editorials. The key to successfully pulling it off? Keeping your bow slightly askew.

Style.com, you are showing your age again. Your barb at LDR just shows that you don’t understand what the 18-24 demographic is interested in and therefore don’t understand the market.
