Throwback Thursday: Stella Goes Into The Blue

Throwback Thursday is a new feature on Beauty Counter in which we pore over the pages of our favorite glossies from decades past in search of a little modern-day makeup and hair inspiration.

The Model: Stella Tennant

The Moment: Blue eye shadow

The Motivation: With the New York shows in full swing, it seemed only right to use today’s Throwback Thursday as an opportunity to pay our respects to one of fashion’s most beloved—and most enduring—catwalk stars: Stella Tennant. The nineties supe looks as good in this Steven Meisel-lensed editorial from 1996 as she did opening the Chanel Métier d’Arts presentation in Scotland last December. Shown here sporting a shade of cerulean-blue eye shadow that has been brushed from the lash line up to the brow bone and out towards the temple, Tennant demonstrates yet another way to wear Spring’s favorite makeup trend, nearly two decades later. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
