In Istanbul, A Makeup Vision In White-------
Following a (long) month of fashion shows, it goes without saying that we’re a little exhausted by the mere mention of them. Still, we can’t help but occasionally glance over to Istanbul, where yet another parade of presentations showcasing local talent is currently under way. And that’s a good thing, because had we not been paying attention, we may have missed this. Thanks to a recent habit of Pat McGrath’s that has spanned a few seasons of her backstage antics, we’ve seen our fair share of painted lashes in shades of blue, pink, green, and red of late; but it’s been a while since we’ve seen them in white. Yet there they were at Nihan Peker’s Fall show this morning, where models were treated to multiple strokes of alabaster mascara—with a corresponding white cat-eye and neutral-stained lid to boot! That’s the good thing about the fact that the sun never sets on the international barrage of fashion weeks these days; there’s always beauty inspiration cropping up somewhere. Thoughts on the look?
