Mariah Makes (More) Perfume Moves; A New Scent From The Cosmos; And More…


The hits keep coming for Mariah Carey. Not the songs, per se; the singer hasn’t released an album since 2009 (although one is reportedly in the works). But the American Idol judge’s fragrance business is booming. Her twelfth scent, Dreams, launches next month.[Billboard]

Remember that meteorite that crashed into Russia’s Ural region last month? Rather than erect plaques or statues, local authorities are memorializing the event with a perfume. It will be called Chebarkul Meteorite, after the lake where pieces of the asteroid were recovered, and “will most likely feature metallic and stony notes.” No, we’re not making this up. [Allure]

Amy Adams isn’t just the face of Lacoste’s forthcoming scent, Eau de Lacoste. She also has a personal connection to the jasmine sambac and orange flower flacon. “Recently, I was in Ravello, Italy, and it was a perfect temperature and the wind was blowing and I could smell jasmine and orange blossom, and now, to this day, if I’m stressed out, I think of that moment, and it’s one of the things I use to try and relax myself,” says the Oscar-nominated actress.
