Shu Uemura Strikes Oil—Again!

-------

One of the pillars upon which world-renowned Hollywood makeup artist Shu Uemura built his eponymous brand in 1967 was the idea that beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin. Thus was born his famous cleansing oil, a product that was based on the simple principle that oil attracts other oil and the impurities in a wide range of foundations, lipsticks, waterproof mascaras and the like would therefore adhere to the elixir, get emulsified with water, and then simply wash away. Fast-forward forty-six years and one bottle of its Unmask cleansing oil is sold every seven seconds. The original camellia-oil formula has been frequently improved upon over the years, too, resulting in a range of different oils for different concerns, and to celebrate this achievement, Shu Uemura has just released limited-edition packaging for five of its best-selling bottles, including the super luxurious Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil; the ginkgo-leaf-extract- and green-tea-infused anti-aging Cleansing Oil Premium A/O; the exfoliating and clarifying, fruit acid-fueled Whitefficient Clear Brightening Gentle Cleansing Oil; the ginger-root-oil-boosted, Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Advanced Formula; and the ultralight, cherry-blossom-petal-kissed Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil. You’ll gravitate towards them for their fun, colorful illustrations; but it’s the visible results that will keep you coming back for more.
