Now In Bloom: Dolce & Gabbana’s New Nail Lacquers-------
With the endless rains we’ve been having this summer, there’s been no shortage of flora and fauna in our midst. While our backyard is far from a botanical paradise (who has the time to prune?), there are plenty of wildflowers in bloom. Those lush pops of color on the petals, of which we’re now so fond, also happen to be the inspiration behind Dolce & Gabbana’s latest Love in Taormina nail polish collection. Each shade is given the Italian name for a flower native to the ancient town of Taormina, Sicily, including Bouganville, a rich fuchsia layered with purple; Ibisco, a dark pink with a vintage patina; Oleandro, a soft pearly pink; Camelia, a fluorescent coral with a touch of red; and our personal favorite, Iris, a dark misty violet. Rounding out the collection are three new nail-care items to help prolong the life of your lacquer job. The Protective Base Nail Coat preps the bed of your nails, filling in any cracks to create a smooth canvas so your color won’t streak. High Shine Nail Coat contains diamond powder to strengthen the enamel and lend a glossy finish, while the Matte Nail Coat does what the name implies and dries down to create a hazy, matte effect, like flowers faded in the sun.
