A Fragrance Jewel From the City of Light-------
Frédéric Boucheron was the first jeweler to open a shop at Place Vendôme in 1893 (No. 26 to be exact). He is said to have chosen the sunny corner of the famous Parisian square because it cast the most flattering light on his gems. Now, 120 years later, his namesake brand is launching a new scent this September. Boucheron Place Vendôme, created by perfumers Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson, is a sophisticated blend with a delicate top comprised of orange blossom and pink peppercorn, and a heart of sweet honey and jasmine. The base is a mix of more robust notes like sensual benzoin (an oil derived from a tree native to Indonesia) and warm cedarwood. I imagine the faceted bottle containing the champagne-colored juice would catch the soft morning rays of the City of Light just as well as one of Boucheron’s glittering jewels. C’est magnifique.
