Where Brooklyn At?

Priti Nail Polish

From the VMAs to Girls—it’s all about Brooklyn. While Williamsburg holds strong as the hipster mecca, the artists and creative types are making an exodus to the slightly grungier Bushwick at a rate that would make Moses proud. (Whether it’s due to the rise in rent or the fact that the once seedy streets are now flooded with tourists is anyone’s guess.) And along with the cool kids, nail polish is also moving in that direction—at least according to Priti NYC (a line of nontoxic lacquers) and up-and-coming designer Charles Harbison. For his impending Spring 2014 presentation, Harbison collaborated with the beauty brand to create a crimson shade (his signature color) that he dubbed Bushwick Red after his on-the-rise neighborhood. “The different types of people, street style, and exotic food are a constant source of inspiration,” he explains. Though red nails are hardly revolutionary, we’re looking forward to seeing manicures with BK street cred this season.
