Face Painting With La Prairie
Today marks the twenty-first day of fashion month and my skin is beginning to take issue with multiple shots of espresso and occasional spurts of sleep. With no time for a facial, I decided to create my own spa experience in my hotel room around three a.m. last night. While there were no candles or soothing music (only BBC buzzing in the background), La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask (launching next month) was in the house. The rich formula softens with sunflower-seed oil and cupuaçu-seed butter, while phytic acid and Carica papaya speed up cell turnover and brighten. The star ingredient—caviar extract—boasts amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that firm and protect. I also enjoyed the artful application, which entails painting the pale pink lotion on your cheeks, forehead, and chin with a small synthetic brush, then massaging it into your face. By morning, my complexion was noticeably smoother—despite clocking far less than the recommended eight hours. This jar, although not TSA-friendly, was certainly worth toting from New York to Milan to Paris.
