Scratch ‘N’ Sniff: Spritz-Free Scent Layering
Scented nail lacquers are normally laced with sickly saccharine notes intended to attract the pre-teen set. (Chocolate cupcake or lollipop, anyone?) Revlon, however, is taking the concept to sophisticated new levels with its Parfumerie Nail Enamels, a range of twenty-four shades that are distilled into bottles resembling vintage perfume flacons. Not only do these formulas boast rich color, but they also contain essential oils that leave behind the aroma of French-milled lavender soap or Italian leather (which lasts, in my experience, through several hand-washings). While the collection doesn’t launch in its entirety until December, the brand is letting consumers get a whiff with two complementing polish duos—the Paradise Set with China Flower (a vibrant vermillion) and a pastel Pink Pineapple, or the Indulgent Set, which pairs Bordeaux (a hue reminiscent of the wine itself) with silvery Spun Sugar. Whether you prefer a fruity-floral or something sweet with a hint of spice, creating a bespoke eau on your fingertips is as easy as adding an accent nail.
$10 per pair, available exclusively at Walgreens stores in November.
