Straight Talk

Admittedly, exposing your hair to extreme heat on the regular isn’t the best idea. But for those unable to resist the siren song of silken, pin-straight strands, we’d recommend putting yourself in the hands of a professional—sort of. Enter Harry Josh, the A-list stylist whose eponymous line of tools sent the beauty world into a social-media frenzy when his mint-colored blow-dryer launched late this summer (everyone from a topless Erin Wasson to Miranda Kerr raved via Instagram, while Rose Byrne devoted a Style Map post to her mane man). Thanks to an army of immaculately coiffed starlets and models shilling his wares, the brand was destined for a certain amount of success. But after road-testing Josh’s latest addition to the line, a flatiron, I’m to report that it’s worthy of all the hype. The lightweight wand heats up to its highest temperature in a scant 45 seconds, employing patented Nano-Ceramic and titanium plates that add moisture via negative ions—leaving hair glossy, and less parched than after your typical heat-styling session. Plus, the nine-foot cord never cuts you short of reach-around room—making it possible for non-contortionists to smooth those kinky pieces that often hide at the back of the head.
