Flashback Friday: Give ‘Em the Old Razzle-Dazzle

Flashback Friday is a feature on Beauty Counter in which we pore over the pages of our favorite glossies from decades past in search of a little modern-day makeup and hair inspiration.

The Models: Eva Longoria and Diana Ross

The Moment: Skin Is In

The Motivation: If there’s anyone who has mastered the art of getting attention, it’s Motown diva Diana Ross—the woman knows a thing or two about showstopping outfits. So we don’t blame Eva Longoria if she decided to take a page from Ross’ playbook (albeit switching out the black wig for soft waves) by posing on the December cover of Elle Spain wearing nothing but crystals to cover up her lady parts. The risqué photo looks a lot like the jacket for Ross’s album Everything Is Everything, (shown above) which came out in 1970. Whether or not the Elle Spain cover is a tribute to the singer, there’s one thing we know for sure: Sometimes less really is more.
