Giorgio Armani Brightens Up
This time of the year can be draining in more ways than one. Scrambling to tie up loose ends at the office and tying up packages at home is exhausting enough. And then there are the late-night festivities (usually involving an open bar) and travel by plane, train, and automobile to get to far-flung locales, like, say, exotic Iowa. The stress eventually takes its toll—showing up all over your face in the form of blemishes or dull, dry skin. Happy holidays, indeed.
Enter Giorgio Armani, who played on the power of nude for his Fall 2013 Couture presentation. Beige in the world of this designer, however, is anything but boring. The forthcoming collection of beauty products for Spring focuses on creating a peau d’ange (or angel skin) effect and veiling the visible signs of fatigue. Ultrafine micropearls infused into the gel-based Belladonna Highlighter Palette (seen here) bring your complexion back to life when dusted across cheekbones, or, as makeup artist Linda Cantello did at the Nudo show, onto lids in lieu of eye shadow. For more intense radiance, try the Fluid Sheer in #13. A drop or two of this featherweight formula can be added to your foundation or used on top, and the kaleidoscopic pearls that vary between gold and rose instantly warm up sallow skin. And though the CC craze already feels so 2013, this tube launching in March is worth trying. Laced with moringa oleifera extract (to protect against pollution) and adenosine (to stimulate collagen production), this sheer, tinted cream treats while it blurs imperfections via a new light-reflecting pigment previously found only in lipstick and eye colors. If this trio is any indication, the future (i.e., 2014) is guaranteed to be bright.
