Nexxus Nabs Molly Sims, Sports Illustrated Snags Barbie, and More
Nexxus teamed up with supermodel Molly Sims for its forthcoming Color Assure line—adding her to the growing list of models (including Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr) who recently signed contracts with haircare companies. According to WWD, Sims will undergo a “dramatic” dye job by Aura Friedman, Nexxus’ new celebrity colorist, and share her experience with fans across different social media platforms.
Barbie is no GoldieBlox—she’s plastic, proud, and #unapologetic. She also just scored a spot in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, proving she’s no dumb blond. [Allure.com]
For those who prefer 3-D manicures and glitter-flecked lacquers over triple axels and gold medals, the Nailympics just wrapped up in Italy—and the competition was fierce. From classic gels to clawlike acrylics with intricately designed themes, more than two hundred competitors (read: manicurists) from all over the globe competed for ten trophies and ninety-six different medals. #sochiwho? Speaking of polish jobs, New York City-based nail salon Tenoverten recently announced a collaboration with J.Crew, introducing three shades named after real streets in downtown Manhattan: Houston, a pinky nude; Prince, a pale lavender; and Hudson, a punchy sherbet. (We think each color would pair well with the retailer’s Fall collection punctuated by pastels.) [Bellasugar.com]
